Roof Restore, Revive & Protect
Walking across roof tiles and using high pressure lances and rotary equipment to clean roofs is definitely not recommended! Such activities may cause significant damage, leading to broken and loose tiles, displaced mortar and fixings, and the ingress of water.
To prevent this, we use telescopic roof tile scrapers to gently remove existing moss, together with our professional low-pressure roller pump machine to soft wash your roof. These processes are completed from gutter height utilising our own mobile scaffolding tower equipment. This means that we never need to rely on third-party scaffolding hirers to supply the equipment, which could lead to delays and disappointment. What’s more, our scaffolding has the BSI Kitemark Certification and is fully compliant with the European Standard EN1004.
But that’s not all! As nationally authorised mobile tower users, trained and certified by PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ & Manufacturers’ Association), you can be rest-assured that the working practices adopted by the REVIVED team are always safe, protecting all your property, not just your roof!
Roof Packages
Depending on your personal preference, how your roof has been constructed and the type and quantity of moss, algae and lichens present, we have two methods of restoring, reviving and protecting your roof.
The BioWash™ Surface Cleaner or Roof Clean Extreme Process
We will apply and reapply a professional-grade, biodegradable biocide to clean and protect your roof, over the following six stages:
- Downpipes and surrounding areas are appropriately protected, for example, by the use of tarpaulins.
- Existing moss is removed by hand using an extendable telescopic carbon fibre pole fitted with a professional grade tile scraping blade that matches the contours of your roof tiles. This ensures as much of the moss is removed, whilst preventing any tile damage.
- The BioWash™ Surface Cleaner or the Roof Clean Extreme solution is applied in the correct concentration using the low-pressure roller pump machine. This is left to act upon the moss before being gently rinsed to remove remaining moss, algae and surface grime.
- Further applications of BioWash or Roof Clean Extreme and rinsing may then be needed to completely remove deposits.
- BioWash™ Surface Protector is applied using the low-pressure roller pump machine. This contains a powerful combination of active biocides, which help prevent the regrowth of lichens, algae and moss.
- The process is completed by thoroughly cleaning gutters of debris, and the washing down of walls, windows, and surrounding areas. Any tarpaulins are then removed to leave your REVIVED home neat and tidy.
The Biocide Process (Involves Two Stages / Two Visits)
The more advanced BioWash™ system involves the following five stages:
- Stage 1
- During the first visit, surrounding areas are appropriately protected, for example, by the use of tarpaulins.
- Existing moss is removed by hand using an extendable telescopic carbon fibre pole fitted with a professional grade tile scraping blade that matches the contours of your roof tiles. This ensures as much of the moss is removed, whilst preventing any tile damage.
- The biocide is gently but thoroughly sprayed onto the roof where it begins to act upon remaining moss fungus and lichens.
- The first stage is completed by thoroughly cleaning gutters of debris, and the washing down of walls, windows, and surrounding areas as required. Any tarpaulins are then removed to leave your REVIVED home neat and tidy.
- Stage 2
- Following a period of at least 7 days, a second visit takes place to commence Stage 2 of the process. During this visit, again, downpipes and surrounding areas are suitably protected.
- Moss, algae and lichens that have died are then gently removed using our roof tile scrapers.
- The biocide is then reapplied to the roof to eradicate any dormant spores that may remain, and act as a preventative coating to protect against regrowth.
- The process is completed by thoroughly cleaning gutters of debris, and the washing down of walls, windows, and surrounding areas as required. Any tarpaulins are then removed to leave your REVIVED home neat and tidy.
